In 2003 Florian started his career in the hospitality industry in Germany as an apprentice to become a hotel specialist. He undertook practical and theoretical training within every aspect of the hotel.
After graduating in 2006 he moved to the UK to further his language skills as well as his passion for wine and took on the role of Commis Sommelier in the Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club in East Sussex. As his passion grew so did his positions to Sommelier, Senior Bartender and finally Bar Supervisor. After four years Florian moved on to Portsmouth to take on his first management position as the Bar Manger in the Solent Hotel and Spa, looking after three bars and the general beverage operation.
Florian went on to Bristol to become Bar Manager at the prestigious Harvey Nichols store. Some of his highlights there were organising and running various in store events as well as the beverage organisation for one of the Prince’s Trust charity events.
Returning back to his hotel roots Florian joined a team at the One Michelin Star Manor House Hotel and Golf Club in Castle Coombe where he took over as the Restaurant and Bars Manager.
In November 2013 Florian joined The Bath Priory as Beverage Manager where he is now responsible for a small bar and sommelier team as well as our newest bar and dining concept – The Pantry.
