English Wine Dinner
Thursday 25th June 2020
Thursday 25th June 2020
Join the 'pioneers of premier winemaking' as Bolney Wine Estate visit The Bath Priory to showcase their unique, fruit-driven wines. Enjoy an arrival drink and canapés before savouring a selection of delicious, artisanally made wines matched to a specially crafted four-course menu by our Executive Chef, Jauca Catalin.
Bolney’s story began in 1972 when owners and founders, Janet and Rodney Pratt planted three acres of vines to create what was then only the sixth commercial vineyard in England. Sam Linter, Rodney and Janet’s daughter, took over the reins in the mid-1990s. Under Sam’s leadership, Winemakers Liz Garrett and Alex Rabagliati combine their knowledge and expertise to create award-winning wine.
The Estate is located on the edge of the South Downs, about 14 miles from the UK's south coast, and comprises five unique vineyard sites. The vines were re-planted in 2002-2005, being replaced when they reach 35-40 years of age. One vine produces enough grapes for 1-3 bottles of wine. The Estate specialises in producing premium red, white, rose and sparkling English wines that have won numerous awards, and gained lots of fans, all over the world.
