The Priory Restaurant

The Bath Priory has a long held reputation for delivering outstanding cuisine, our restaurant is the first choice for special occasions, family celebrations and intimate dinners amongst the residents of Bath.

Our Dining Rooms

The dining room is light filled and spacious overlooking the stunning gardens and offering a relaxing ambience. The more intimate "Browns" is sumptuous and luxurious, featuring deep damask banquette seating, rich colours and a backdrop of simply stunning paintings adorning the walls. Whichever dining room becomes your own personal favourite you will be assured of a very fine gastronomic experience.

Our Chef's

Executive Head Chef Michael Caines MBE

The Priory Restaurant is under the direction of two Michelin star Executive Head Chef Michael Caines MBE. Michael has been Executive Head Chef at sister hotel, Gidleigh Park since 1994 and has held two Michelin stars there since 1999. It therefore seemed a very natural move for Michael to take over the helm at the Bath Priory in February 2009 where he has established his own unique approach to fine cuisine interpreted by the very talented team at the Bath Priory.

Head Chef Sam Moody

In his first role as Head Chef Sam Moody is creating a reputation in his own right for exciting flavours, fine quality food and the delivery of a culinary experience that will delight time and again. Sam has a genuine passion for developing menus that use fresh, local ingredients his supplier relationships are very strong, his salad leaves are grown locally and to his precise requirements, the link between food and cuisine does not come much closer than this. Of course the most local supplier is the Priory's own Kitchen Garden the planting here is a collaboration between kitchen and garden with some interesting experimentation and some fine produce making its way direct from field to plate. Sam continues to develop and grow the team under Michael's guidance whilst making a name for himself in his own right, the future is very bright for this rising star and his own sensational cooking.

Bath Life Magazine November 2011

"Our meal had been wonderfully relaxing and yet completely luxurious - the perfect combination. In fact, it's one we're likely to find ourselves talking about for a very long time."

Trip Advisor October 2011

"Dedicated to ensure that you enjoy the experience - From the moment  of our arrival, our family party of twelve was looked after with individual care in these beautiful surroundings. Pre-dinner drinks in the lounge were served with friendly professionalism and this continued until the moment we finished our delicious petit fours and left well past midnight. The tasting menu was varied, original, delicious and perfectly served."

Food Magazine December 2010

"There are few places that superlatives don't quite do justice to, like the Grand Canyon or the Great Wall China and although the Bath Priory may not be one of the Wonders of the World (yet!) it's definitely a place mere words cannot easily articulate".
